Red Wing Heritage Boots

Red Wing Heritage Boots are now well known as comfortable and durable boots. These Heritage styles were originally designed to meet the local necessity for work boots designed to meet the challenges of demanding industries like logging, farming, and mining. Comfortable enough for the hardworking Americans that wore them and tough enough for harsh working conditions, these boot designs have stood the true test of time.

Red Wing Heritage Boots use Quality Materials

Known for not cutting corners, the Red Wing Shoe Company® makes Red Wing Heritage Boots with leather from their very own US-based tannery. The  S.B. Foot Tanning Company has been operating since 1872 in Red Wing, Minnesota. The tannery began supplying leather to Beckman when he first opened the company in 1905 and in 1986, the Red Wing Shoe Company® acquired the S.B. Foot Tanning Company. 

Our favorite part about the tanning company that makes Red Wing's leather? It was and still remains a family company that employs many workers with family connections that stretch back generations. See more in the tannery video below.

Red Wing Heritage Iron Ranger Boot

The legendary  Red Wing Iron Ranger boot has a lineage that can be tracked back almost a century to the mining pits of Northern Minnesota. Its thick leather, oil resistant outsole, comfortable cork midsole, and speed hooks made it the right balance of tough and comfortable for miners in Minnesota's Mesabi Range. Today, the Red Wing 8085 is a fantastic combination of traditional style and modern comfort. A favorite since the 1950's, the 6-inch Classic Moc boot remains an unmistakable Red Wing staple.
